At Masters, we follow a structured, safety-first approach to asbestos abatement, ensuring compliance with WorkSafeBC (WCB) regulations and industry best practices. Here’s how our process works:
  1. Initial Client Inquiry
    • When you contact us, our office team assesses your needs and determines the best service for your situation.
    • If necessary, we schedule a call or site visit with an experienced manager.
    • Note for website developers: Our managers currently handle incoming calls, but we are transitioning to an office-managed intake process.
  2. HMI Report (Hazardous Materials Inspection)
    • If you already have an HMI report, we can provide an estimate without a site visit.
    • If an HMI report is not available, one must be conducted as required by WCB regulations.
    • The report identifies asbestos-containing materials to ensure safety and compliance.
    • We provide an estimate for the HMI report before scheduling a site inspection.
  3. Project Planning & Estimate Approval
    • Once we have all necessary information, we outline the required steps to safely restore your property.
    • A detailed estimate is provided for your approval before any work begins.
  4. Site Preparation – Hospital-Grade Standards
    • We set up the job site following hospital-grade safety protocols and industry guidelines.
    • All necessary containment measures are implemented to ensure maximum protection.
  5. Asbestos Abatement, Air Testing & Safe Disposal
    • The affected area is completely sealed to prevent cross-contamination.
    • Our certified team safely removes, double-bags, and disposes of asbestos-containing materials per WCB regulations.
    • Air test clearance is always included to confirm that the space is safe for re-entry.
    • For high-risk work, additional air testing is conducted to ensure full compliance.
    • We guarantee that no one is exposed to hazardous materials during the process.
  6. Final Cleaning & Project Completion
    • We conduct a thorough final clean after every project.
    • Once work is complete, we ensure the site is left in pristine condition.
HMI Report Service Process
  1. Client Inquiry & Estimate
    • When you contact us, our office team will assess your needs and provide an estimate for the HMI report.
    • Once approved, we schedule an inspection with one of our WCB-certified inspectors (QP – Qualified Person).
    • Our inspectors hold S-Certification (Surveyor) and have extensive industry experience.
  2. Site Inspection & Sample Collection
    • Our qualified inspector visits your property and collects material samples from the planned work areas.
  3. Laboratory Testing
    • Samples are sent to an accredited lab for analysis.
    • Standard turnaround time: 5 to 7 business days (depending on lab workload).
    • Expedited results: Available within 48 hours.
    • Emergency testing: Results in as little as 6 hours (additional fee applies).
  4. HMI Report & Compliance Guidance
    • Once results are available, we provide an official HMI report outlining the findings and ensuring WCB compliance.
    • If needed, you can contact us for further clarification or guidance.
  5. Additional Services & Quote (If Needed)
    • If asbestos is found, we provide a detailed abatement quote to safely remove and dispose of hazardous materials following WCB standards.
Mold Removal Process
  1. Client Call
    • The client contacts our company, and we direct their call to one of our managers.
    • The manager discusses the client’s concerns and gathers initial details about the issue.
  2. Estimate Preparation
    • If the client provides sufficient photo documentation and reports, we can generate an online estimate.
    • If additional assessment is required to determine the extent of the damage, we will send an estimate for the assessment.
    • Once the client approves the assessment estimate, we schedule an on-site assessment.
  3. Assessment & Quotation
    • During the assessment, our team will document findings, take photos, and create a detailed scope of work.
    • The client will receive a comprehensive document including:
      • Findings and observations
      • Photo documentation
      • Full scope of work
      • Any additional recommendations
    • If the assessment is approved, we proceed with the project scheduling.
  4. Project Scheduling & Deposit Collection
    • Once the estimate is approved, our office contacts the client to collect a 50% deposit.
    • We schedule a date and time to start the remediation process.
  5. Site Preparation & Mold Removal
    • Our technicians arrive on-site and perform all necessary setup procedures.
    • We install all required engineering controls to ensure safe containment and removal.
    • The affected materials are removed following safety protocols to prevent cross-contamination.
  6. Project Oversight & Completion
    • The project manager visits the site periodically to oversee the progress and ensure compliance with safety standards.
    • Upon completion, the project manager performs a final inspection and signs off on the work.
    • The worksite is left clean and ready for the next phase of restoration.
  7. Industry Compliance & Best Practices
    • CSA Infection Control Standards: We set up each job site in accordance with CSA infection control standards and industry guidelines.
    • Final Cleaning: We perform a thorough final clean to ensure the worksite is left in a safe and ready condition for the next steps in the restoration process.
Mold Test Service Process
  • Client call: We will pick up your call and address it to one of our managers.
  • Manager visit: Our manager will book a visit to sample your place.
  • Samples dropped: After collecting the samples, we will drop them at the lab. Usually, we have a 48-hour turnaround time; however, in emergency situations, we can get your results back to you within 4 hours.
  • Results released: After receiving the results from our associate lab, we will send them to you, followed by a manager call to help you understand and read the results.
  • Quote: If applicable, after the results are received, we will offer you a quote to complete the project and get your house back to safety.
Sewer & Drain Flood Cleanup Service Process
  • Client call: We will pick up your call and address it to one of our managers.
  • Manager visit: Our manager will book a visit to sample your place.
  • Project organization: Write down all the required steps to bring your place back to safety and send the assessment out for your approval (with photo documentation and all other important information).
